Wild Weekend: EDITION launch & NowOH

What a weekend! I kicked things off in Bowling Green, Ohio, where I was honored to be the guest juror for the 9th Annual Northwest Ohio Community Art Exhibition, NowOH, at Bowling Green State University Fine Arts Center. BGSU was such a gracious host; there is nothing I like better than getting to reward artists for their hard work and experimentation – not to mention getting to see the collective picture of a community that is created by an open call art show. Here are a couple of my favorites – the show will be up at BGSU through July 30th, if you want to check it out for yourself.

Then it was buzzing back to Detroit for a whirlwind of activity, including the official opening of Simone DeSousa Gallery’s newly revamped EDITION space. I’m so proud and impressed with Simone for re-imagining her second gallery into a space where unique works of art become attainable for people at an accessible price point – and not just because some of that art is by yours truly!
Just a little bit, though – I’m told that the remainder of my edition sold almost through, so I’ll have to start brainstorming my next one. In the meantime, you can check out all the goodness here. Congrats, Simone!
