This Week in Various Artstuffs: Two Group Shows Opening

Hello! In my ongoing, ill-advised mode of having two shows right on top of each other, I am a lucky participant in two different group shows that open this week, with two different and terrific groups of artist, with whom I am flattered and delighted to get to show work.

First, opening at the Kerrytown Concert House in Ann Arbor tomorrow evening is Re:Iterate – the brainchild of organizer Michael Nagara and past exhibition collaborator Nancy Wolfe – also including the inimitable Andrew “Andy T” Thompson, and the unstoppable Megan Heeres. I took the show’s theme as an opportunity to revisit and reiterate one of the motifs from my solo at Simone DeSousa Gallery at the top of this year, HEART – and have made some altars reflecting on matters of the heart, and the concept of interactional vandalism.

The following evening, Wonderland will be opening at the Walter E. Terhune Gallery on Owens Community College campus in Perrysburg, OH. Don’t let the out-of-state destination fool you, it’s not that far. I’m joining an illustrious group, including Heather Accurso, Andrew Krieger, Adrian Hatfield, Kirsten Lund, and Michael McGillis, and the show is put together by the amazing Paula Baldoni of River House Arts. It looks great, I can’t wait to get there and marvel at the work on display by my fellows.

That’s on Friday, October 13, from 6:00 – 8:30.

Hope to see you around this week!
