DISRUPTING THE NARRATIVE – opens at OSU Urban Arts Space THIS SATURDAY

Just a reminder that this awesome five-person show is open at OSU Urban Arts Space in downtown Columbus, OH, as of yesterday – with the official opening reception to take place on Saturday, May 19, from 5:00-7:00 pm. There’s an installation that can guide your future Shing Yin Khor, a jumble of larger-than-life structural comics panels by the unsinkable Laurenn McCubbin, and a hall of flags of my nation. I am so honored to be a part of the show, and cannot thank UAS enough for their gracious and thorough attention during installation.
I regret that I will not make the opening, because it happens to be concurrent with the actual wedding of my actual and best little sister. So I will be there instead. But under any other circumstances, I would be celebrating with the beautiful people of Columbus, a terrific city that charms me more every time I visit. Thanks for the opportunity, and I hope you enjoy the show!!
Admission is free and open to the public
Free Reception: Saturday, May 19, 5-7 PM
DISRUPTING THE NARRATIVE presents sequential narrative in multiple forms: 2D and 3D, on the page and on the wall, through sculpture, fiber, video, interactivity, and classic storytelling. Artists Shing Yin Khor, Sarah Rose Sharp, Emi Gennis, Zoe Fox, Carl Antonowicz, and Laurenn McCubbin invite viewers to participate in the construction and reshaping of narrative, engaging their mediums to utilize meta-level storytelling, designing objects and stories that can be “read” in multiple directions.
